Businesses in the region have maintained a strong entrepreneurial spirit during the recent challenging economic times. The Business Excellence Awards reward the region’s finest companies, and entrepreneurs, with business opportunities, media exposure and a clear marketing advantage.
Business of the Year
All finalists will automatically be entered for the Business of the year award. The winner will walk away with the most coveted title of the evening.
Entrepreneur of the Year
The relevant person whose business is a finalist will automatically be entered for the Entrepreneur of the year award.
Large Business of the Year
Turnover over £25m
Medium Business of the Year
Turnover between £5m - £25m
Small Business of the Year
Turnover up to £5m
In each of these three categories we are looking for evidence of an outstanding business whose growth, ambition and quality of management has enabled it to deliver on a compelling business strategy.
In addition to strategy, business performance and employment and training the judges will take into account the economic context of the industry in which the business operates.
International Trade and Export
This award is open to any business which has either commenced, or already has, sales and services overseas either as an importer, exporter or service provider. The judges will be interested to learn about your strategy, business performance and understanding of the challenges faced.
Success Through People
People are a business? greatest asset and maximising their participation at all levels is the driving force of any great organisation, regardless of its size. The judges will be looking for evidence of compelling people strategies and performance as well as the impact of training and incentives on both staff and the business commercially.
